Gerdin Family Makes Additional Financial Commitment to Hawkeye Athletics
A familiar Hawkeye family is giving back to provide Iowa student-athletes with the academic space and resources needed during their time on campus. The Ann Gerdin family, of Solon, Iowa, has made an additional $5 million commitment to Hawkeye athletics, which will help fund renovations and programming at the Gerdin Athletic Learning Center.
On Friday, June 9, the University of Iowa Alumni Association Board of Directors voted to move forward to develop a plan of merger with the University of Iowa Foundation. This is an important step toward creating a single advancement organization that will serve the University of Iowa’s constituents – students, alumni, donors, and friends – by offering coordinated campus, regional, national, and international outreach and affinity-based programs. These activities will celebrate, engage, and strengthen each person’s unique relationship with the University of Iowa. Additionally, these efforts will prime the experience of students in anticipation of their roles as alumni, as well as maximize the expertise of both alumni relations and development professionals. This combined mission will ensure the highest levels of long-term awareness, engagement, and support for the university. Learn more about the goals of advancement at the University of Iowa here.
