Highlights of 2001 Giving
TOTAL GIVING
In 2001 the UI Foundation received $64.8 million in outright gifts and $59.6 million in future commitments (pledges, trusts, bequests) from more than 56,000 contributors--more than $124 million in total productivity.
CONTRIBUTORS
The $64.8 million received outright came from 30,287 alumni; 24,523 non-alumni; and from more than 2,120 businesses, foundations, and other organizations.
USE OF OUTRIGHT GIFTS
Contributors directed their outright gifts ($64.8 million) to programs and projects campus-wide, including to student support (15.7 %); faculty support (8.3%); capital support (8.8%); program support (66.6%); and unrestricted support (0.6%).
REPEAT DONORS
More than 17,000 contributors gave to the Foundation twice or more during the year, bringing the total number of individual gifts received to 99,480. Alumni and friends from every state and from 20 other countries sent gifts to the UI Foundation in 2001.
HONOR CLUBS
More than 30,543 contributors gave $100 or more in 2001. In the 2001 Annual Report on Giving, there are 24,413 contributors listed at the Old Gold Club level (annual givers of $100 through $999); 2,580 at the Pentacrest Society level (annual givers of $1,000 through $1,999); and 1,496 contributors at the Cornerstone Society level (annual givers of $2,000 or more).
PRESIDENTS CLUB
By the end of 2001, the total number of individuals and organizations in the honor club for the University's most generous contributors reached 5,201. This figure includes 124 Presidents Club Gold members ($1 million or more in cumulative outright or deferred support) and 328 Presidents Club Silver members ($250,000 - $999,999 in cumulative outright or deferred support).
