Overview of University-Wide Priorities
The goals of our $1 billion comprehensive campaign mirror those established in the University's strategic plan for the years 2000 to 2005:
- To create a well-rounded undergraduate experience, enabling students to become globally competitive while fulfilling their intellectual, social, and career objectives
- To achieve premier graduate and professional programs in a significant number of areas, helping to educate tomorrow's top teachers, scholars, and explorers of new worlds
- To foster distinguished research, scholarship, and artistic creation, increasing the UI's impact on our state's economy and quality of life, and touching the lives of people throughout Iowa, the nation, and the world
- To facilitate interdisciplinary interaction in teaching, research, and service, keeping the UI in the national spotlight as fertile ground for new ideas and for innovative solutions to global challenges
- To develop an enriching campus environment that is supportive of the core values of the University - learning, community, responsibility, integrity, and quality
- To enhance the UI's ability to respond quickly to new opportunities by generating increased annual support for UI colleges and other programs, as well as for the UI's vital unrestricted resource, the Iowa Impact Fund
To support these strategic goals, the campaign must achieve the following to benefit UI students, faculty, and staff today and for many years to come. These featured priorities are the centerpiece of the University of Iowa's seven-year (1999-2005), $1 billion comprehensive campaign, called
Good. Better. Best. Iowa: The Campaign to Advance Our Great University.
