Rose Lee and Marvin A. Pomerantz

Rose Lee & Marvin A. Pomerantz

Marvin Pomerantz, a 1952 UI business graduate and longtime University of Iowa supporter and volunteer, and his wife, Rose Lee, understand how personally satisfying it is to invest in students. This is why they made the $10 million commitment to help fund the Pomerantz Center.

The couple also has made significant contributions for other areas of the UI, including the Marvin A. Pomerantz Business Library, Hancher Auditorium, athletics, and the UI Museum of Art.

In addition, the Pomerantz family has provided support for two faculty chairs in the Henry B. Tippie College of Business and for the Pomerantz Family Pavilion at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Though providing such generous private support might not have seemed possible to the young Marvin Pomerantz -- who came from humble beginnings -- generosity and hard work were integral to the Pomerantz family ethos. That philosophy, passed from father to son, was instrumental in Marvin Pomerantz being named a Horatio Alger Award winner and is what prompted Marvin and Rose Lee to share their gifts with UI students.

The new University of Iowa Pomerantz Center -- and its career program that helps connect students with educational and professional opportunities - will be a place for both current students and alumni to pursue their career aspirations. You can help make those services and opportunities possible by providing crucial private support.
