Faculty Support
"Faculty" denotes a university's teachers and researchers; the word also means ability or power. At Iowa, our faculty excel in their ability to create and impart knowledge. And that's powerful indeed.
Without talented and committed faculty members to help unlock life's secrets -- in a laboratory, a community, or a classroom full of eager minds -- important knowledge would remain undiscovered, and potential unfulfilled.
During the Good. Better. Best. Iowa campaign, contributors generated nearly $152.9 million for faculty support -- including the creation of 155 new deanships, chairs, professorships, and faculty fellowships -- to help UI faculty achieve excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Because of this support, the UI will continue to attract, retain, and motivate some of the world's great minds.
