Campus Beautification
Developing and updating the University of Iowa's physical campus goes beyond constructing and renovating facilities. It entails pursuing a cohesive vision for the entire campus experience -- including the spaces between and around buildings, and the impressive natural environment of our home along the Iowa River.
The entry points of campus are where people form their first visual impressions of the University. In addition, UI students, faculty, and staff spend much of their UI years utilizing the walkways, outdoor gathering spaces, and natural areas of campus.
These areas must not only be attractive and conducive to scholarly life -- studies show that students rank campus appearance high in their reasons for choosing a college -- but they must also be safe and accessible to all.
Private gifts from alumni, friends, faculty, and staff are essential to ensuring that the UI can make its campus even more beautiful and easy to use.
