College of Education
Give to IowaThe UI College of Education delivers a personal, affordable, and first-class education for the educational professionals of tomorrow. In collaboration with renowned faculty, our students work to solve problems and effect change in the field of education in our community, our country, and around the world.
Since its founding in 1872, the College of Education’s focus has always been on the future: Preparing generations of educators to teach, guide, and counsel students in science, mathematics, the social sciences, gifted education, and more. The UI College of Education was the nation’s first permanent college-level department of education, and has since gained an international reputation for the diversity and excellence of its programs. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
To continue these rich traditions, we must be able to attract and retain the best and brightest students from Iowa and beyond; appropriately provide recognition and support for our faculty; maintain established programs and innovate new ones; and enhance the learning environment in which College of Education students learn, engage, and discover during their time on campus.
