When opportunities arise with strong potential for far-reaching and positive impact on the University of Iowa’s core goals, it must be able to direct resources without delay to develop these emerging opportunities.

As the UI’s only privately financed campus-wide unrestricted fund, the Iowa Impact Fund (IIF) provides crucial resources for such flexible investments, particularly where the expenditures in question fall outside of normal budget allotments or cross-collegiate boundaries.

The IIF was designed to help the UI’s alumni and friends provide vital unrestricted funding during times when the university needs it most. In consultation with faculty and administrators from throughout the UI campus, the university president can put these IIF contributions right to work for everything from student career development and teaching innovations to technology enhancements and outreach programs.
