The event is outside on Kinnick Field. Wear athletic shoes, no sandals, and comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes that will allow you to move freely. Each participant receives an official Ladies’ Football Academy T-shirt, poncho, towel and gymsack at check-in on the day of the event. Remember sunscreen.
Women of every size and shape, ages 18 – 85+ have participated and thoroughly enjoyed the day. You choose your level of participation and activity. There is easy access to free, unlimited water and shaded rest areas.
Past prize winners have raised between $1,300 and $10,720!
You can! You will be amazed how many people are impacted by UI Children’s Hospital and will support you. Go to Fundraising Tips for more help. You can pay any balance due yourself, by cash, check or credit card, at check-in on the day of the event
Checks should be made out to Iowa Ladies’ Football Academy. Bring them to check-in the day of the event or mail to Iowa Ladies’ Football Academy, PO Box 3251, Iowa City, IA 52244. CHECKS DUE MAY 27, 2017 for this year’s event. Check received after this date in the mailbox will not be counted towards fundraiser totals. This is very important: make sure to include your name and complete participant information with all checks, so we can credit you for the donation. DO NOT MAIL CASH- bring to event.
Need to stay overnight? We recommend the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Iowa City.
There is free unlimited Dansani water. Lunch is from Panera Bread.
No. This is an exclusive event for registered participants only. Security procedures will be in place and will be strictly enforced.
Please do not bring purses, bags, or personal backpacks; they will get in your way, and we are not responsible for lost or stolen items. You will receive an official Ladies’ Football Academy Nike gymsack that will hold small personal items such as keys, cell phone, sunscreen and wallet. Bring your wallet in case you want to order additional LFA gear.
Cell phones and pocket-sized cameras are acceptable. Make sure you have plenty of storage so you can take lots of pictures! Large cameras are discouraged, as they will get in the way of being able to freely enjoy the day’s activities. There will be times when you will be directed to put all cell phones and cameras away. Again, we are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
The event will be held rain or shine. Your backpacks will include a rain poncho that can be used in light rain. In the event of stormy weather, we will move to the Indoor Practice Facility.
Please let us know! We always have a waiting list of anxious Hawkeye fans that would like to participate if you can not! Registration fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
