"Studying
law at Iowa has been like a dream come true. The
professors are great and always accessible -- I can go
to any of them at any time -- and I
have opportunities here that I wouldn't get at most schools.
I know that wherever I go with my career, my Iowa degree will
help me stand out."
Teresa has been interested in law since she
was a kid growing up in northern Iowa. Now, as she's about to
set off on her career in Minneapolis, she knows she's set
up for success in the legal field. And she knows that her
success as a student has been nurtured by the alumni and friends
of the College of Law.
Teresa received the George McBurney Merit Scholarship,
established by a loyal UI law graduate. She was also the 2000-2001
Editor in Chief of the prestigious
Iowa Law Review and a member of the National
Moot Court Team -- invaluable opportunities
made possible by annual contributions to the Law School
Annual Fund. That support from past Iowa graduates has meant the
difference between an average law school experience and a superior
education that will serve Teresa well. "I
can't thank them enough," she says of her predecessors,
"and I'll gladly return the favor to a UI student someday."
