IOWA
CITY -- Kristin A. Loupee of Coralville, Iowa, has been named associate
director of development at the University of Iowa Foundation for the UI
College of Liberal Arts and the UI Museum of Art.
As associate director of development, Loupee will
focus on generating major private gift support for the UI's visual and
literary arts. Among her first projects, she will plan and direct campaigns
for new and renovated facilities for the Museum of Art and the School
of Art and Art History. Loupee previously served the college as the
foundation's associate director of development for annual and special
gifts. She joined the UI Foundation in 1998 as assistant director of
development for annual support for the College of Liberal Arts.
"I find these new responsibilities personally
and professionally exciting, and I think they present wonderful opportunities
for the foundation and the university," Loupee said. "The facilities
projects will bring new kinds of visibility to the university and will
provide outstanding art resources for the community and the state. They
will also enhance the experience of UI students."
Loupee graduated from the UI in 1997 with a
B.A. degree in economics and a minor in business administration. She
was a student leader in numerous campus activities and organizations.
During 1998 she was community director for the Iowa chapter of the March
of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, with responsibilities in fund raising,
promotions, community partnerships, and volunteer recruitment and supervision.
The UI Foundation is the preferred channel
for private contributions to all areas of the university. Foundation
staff work with alumni and friends to generate funds for scholarships,
professorships, facilities improvements, equipment purchases, research
and other UI initiatives.
