We are deeply shocked and saddened by the events of September 11, and we extend our most sincere sympathies to all University of Iowa alumni, friends, and volunteers in New York City and Washington, D.C, as well as those in other parts of the country and the world who have lost friends and loved ones in this widespread tragedy.

We join with the University in offering whatever assistance we might provide to aid in our nation's recovery.
