Mary Rettig joins UI Foundation staff

IOWA CITY -- Mary L. Rettig of Cedar Rapids has been named the University of Iowa Foundation's director of development for the UI Colleges of Nursing and Pharmacy. In this role, Rettig will work with faculty and staff in the colleges, and with their alumni and friends, to develop major gift support for students, faculty, facilities and programs.

Since 2002, Rettig had been an associate with Stamats Communication and an administrator at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. From 1995 to 2002, she held various positions with AEGONUSA/Life Investors, Firstar Bank/Firstar Investment Services and Principal Financial Group.

From 1993 to 1995, Rettig was the registrar at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon. She also served as registrar at Mount Mercy College from 1985 to 1993.

Rettig received a B.A. degree from Luther College in 1979, an M.A. degree in library science from the UI in 1980 and a Ph.D. in higher education from the UI in 1999.
