Rumery joins UI Foundation as
gift planning director

Randall C. "Randy" Rumery has joined the staff of the University of Iowa Foundation as gift planning director. In his new position, Rumery will assist alumni and friends who wish to support the UI through estate gifts, life-income gifts, trusts and other forms of gift planning.
Before joining the UI Foundation staff, Rumery served as director of gift planning at the University of Northern Iowa Foundation. His previous professional background includes positions in higher education advancement, financial planning, banking and teaching at the high-school level. Rumery earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural education from Iowa State University in 1969.
David Triplett, the foundation's assistant vice president, gift planning, welcomed Rumery's expertise.
"Randy brings the right experience to our gift planning team," Triplett said. "He has deep roots in Iowa and extensive knowledge of effective financial planning strategies. Randy will play an important role in helping contributors plan gifts that bring maximum benefits to themselves and to the university."
The UI Foundation is acknowledged by the UI as a preferred channel for private contributions that benefit all areas of the university. Foundation staff work with alumni and friends to generate funds for scholarships, professorships, facilities, equipment, research and other university priorities.
