Posted August 13, 2004
IOWA CITY -- The B100 99.7 FM radiothon to support the Children's Miracle Network will air from 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, until noon Saturday, Aug. 21, at NorthPark Mall in Davenport.
Proceeds of the event will benefit patients of Children's Hospital of Iowa at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Donations to the radiothon remain in the local region to benefit critically ill and injured children. More than 130,000 clinic visits occur annually at Children's Hospital of Iowa and its statewide network of outreach clinics. About 5,000 children are admitted to the 177-bed Children's Hospital of Iowa each year, including many from eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
B100 99.7 personalities Missi Sullivan and Jeff James will serve as co-hosts for the radiothon.
"I am very passionate about raising money for Children's Miracle Network," Sullivan said. "I personally feel that this is one of the most important programs that we do every year."
"Our listeners obviously care deeply about children and understand how important it is to support Children's Hospital of Iowa," added co-host James. "All of us want to do everything we can to help these kids and their families."
Sullivan and James will share the stories of former and current patients of Children's Hospital of Iowa and the dedicated physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who care for them.
