Posted February 3, 2004
IOWA CITY -- Print advertisements and publications produced by the University of Iowa Foundation's communications department won a total of 14 ADDY Awards in the annual competition of the Advertising Federation of Cedar Rapids. The awards were presented at the 2003 ADDY Awards banquet Jan. 31, 2004, at the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel in Cedar Rapids.
UI Foundation ads won two of the three Judges' Choice awards given, and one of those ads won a Best of Category award. Pieces produced by the foundation's communications staff also won three Gold ADDYs and eight Silver ADDYs, the second-highest number of Silvers awarded.
"While our primary goal is to create materials that serve as effective fund-raising tools for the University of Iowa, receiving this type of recognition from our peers is especially meaningful and gratifying," said Susan Shullaw, the foundation's vice president for communications and campaign support.
