Radiothon to benefit Children's Miracle Network
Posted May 21, 2004
IOWA CITY -- Children and families across central Iowa will benefit from the efforts of the STAR 102.5 KSTZ morning team of Big Ken and Colleen during their radiothon scheduled for May 26-28 from its live location at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Big Ken and Colleen will share the stories of patients and families cared for at Children's Hospital of Iowa. Donations from listeners will be given to the Children's Miracle Network to help support patients and their families at the Children's Hospital of Iowa within UI Hospitals and Clinics.
"We know how much our STAR listeners care about children," said Bill Wells, general manager of the Des Moines Radio Group. "We are looking forward to highlighting the great health care provided by the people at Children's Hospital of Iowa."
Children's Miracle Network is the nation's largest charitable organization. One hundred percent of the funds raised through this and other Children's Miracle Network events are used to support the work of affiliated children's hospitals. Donations are used to enhance the quality of patients' hospital stays, support research and purchase the sophisticated pediatric health care equipment necessary to care for critically ill and injured children.
Children's Hospital of Iowa at UI Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City is the state's longest-serving children's hospital. More than 100,000 children receive care at the Children's Hospital of Iowa and its statewide network of outreach clinics each year.
