UI Foundation adds fund raisers for UI medical and law schools, hospitals

IOWA CITY -- Brenda Duello, CFRE, and Peter Wilch have joined the University of Iowa Foundation as fund raisers, with assignments to secure private gift support for the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, UI Hospitals and Clinics and the UI College of Law.
Duello, a director of development for the UI Carver College of Medicine and UI Hospitals and Clinics, comes to the UI Foundation after serving as vice president for planned and major gifts for St. Luke's Health Care Foundation in Cedar Rapids. She was previously director of development for the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra. Duello earned a bachelor of arts degree in administrative management from Mount Mercy College. Wilch, director of development for the College of Law, was associate director of development at Grinnell College before coming to the UI Foundation. He previously raised private support for Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and worked in the finance and brokerage industries. Wilch holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Cornell College.
UI Foundation President Michael J. New said the foundation is pleased to welcome Duello and Wilch to its staff. "Brenda and Peter bring expertise and fresh ideas to the UI Foundation's ongoing efforts to maximize private support for the UI," New said. "They are a great asset for us, and most important, for the UI Carver College of Medicine, UI Hospitals and Clinics and the College of Law. We couldn't be happier to have Brenda and Peter on board." The seven-year (1999-2005) effort is raising private funds to help launch a variety of initiatives across the university, substantially increase the number of UI scholarships and endowed faculty positions, support new educational and research facilities, build the UI's endowment and fund outreach and service programs to benefit Iowans.
