Y105-FM to broadcast Children's Miracle Network radiothon
Posted September 9, 2004
IOWA CITY -- Radio personalities Chris Farber and Rachel Redford of Y105 FM will host their third annual 105-hour radiothon to support the Children's Miracle Network Sept. 14-17 at Kennedy Mall in Dubuque.
Proceeds of the event will benefit patients of Children's Hospital of Iowa at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and its outreach clinics across the state. Donations to the radiothon remain in the local region to benefit critically ill and injured children. More than 130,000 children receive care at the Children's Hospital of Iowa each year, including thousands from the tri-state area.
"This event is something that we truly look forward to every year," Farber said. "We can't say enough about the experience of meeting these special kids and their families."
"I know that our listeners will hear some great, very moving stories, and we are counting on them once again to help make a real difference in the lives of these children and families," added co-host Redford.
The radiothon will air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 14-17. Farber and
Redford will share the stories of former and current patients of
Children's Hospital of Iowa, and the dedicated physicians, nurses and
other health care professionals who care for them.
