UI Foundation announces new staff, promotions

IOWA CITY -- The University of Iowa Foundation has added a new chief information officer and a new lead fund-raiser for the UI medical center. The organization also promoted several executive staff members.

The new additions include:

Terrance Knecht, Chief Information Officer. Knecht, responsible for leading and managing the UI Foundation's Information Technology department, previously served as the chief information officer for three organizations: Blue Cross of Wisconsin; United Payors & United Providers, a financial services corporation in Maryland; and Lexi International Knecht, a telemarketing firm in Los Angeles. Knecht holds an M.B.A. degree from Pepperdine University and a B.A. degree from Texas Christian University, and has completed extensive post-graduate work at UCLA.

Flynn Andrizzi

Flynn Andrizzi, Vice President, Medical Center Development. Andrizzi, who holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah as well as B.S. and M.P.A. degrees from the same university, will lead and manage fund-raising staff for the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, College of Public Health and UI Hospitals and Clinics. Before joining the UI Foundation, Andrizzi served as vice president for institutional advancement at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Prior to that position, he served in top fund-raising positions at the University of Utah.

Promotions within UI Foundation management include:

  • Tiffani Shaw, promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance, and Treasurer
  • Susan Shullaw, promoted to Senior Vice President, Communications and Campaign Support
  • David Triplett, promoted to Vice President, Gift Planning
  • Rich Wretman, promoted to Vice President, Constituent Development Programs

Other promotions include:

  • Marcos Esparza, promoted to Assistant Director, Annual Giving Programs
  • Forrest Meyer, promoted to Director, Communications
  • Teri Swank, promoted to Assistant Director, Annual Giving Programs
