UI Foundation president honored by Illinois fund-raising professionals

IOWA CITY -- University of Iowa Foundation President Lynette Marshall has been named the Lisa Mauney Outstanding Fundraising Executive for 2006 by the East Central Illinois Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Marshall will be honored along with other East Central Illinois AFP awardees at a special lunch event in Champaign, Ill., on Nov. 17. Before becoming the UI Foundation president this past August, Marshall was associate chancellor for development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and vice president, University of Illinois Foundation, from 2004 to 2006. AFP represents more than 26,000 fund raisers in 170 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy, foster the professional growth of fund raisers and promote high ethical standards in the fund-raising profession.
