First Group of UI Community Credit Union Scholarship Winners Announced

Ten University of Iowa students from eastern Iowa have been named as the inaugural recipients of the University of Iowa Community Credit Union Scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year.
Earlier this year, the University of Iowa Community Credit Union (UICCU) established the scholarships with a gift commitment to the UI Foundation of $52,500.
The recipients of the $1,000 UICCU Scholarships for 2007-2008 are:
- Hayley H. Abbas of Iowa City
- Alex J. Dragon of Muscatine
- Alyssa B. Gillen of Marshalltown
- Ashley S. Hosseini of Iowa City
- Robert Ingram of North Liberty
- Cameron J. Jilovec of Center Point
- Alexandra M. Kane of Marion, Iowa
- Joshua M. Modrick of Iowa City
- Rose A. Schmidt of Williamsburg
- Krystal S. Titus of North Liberty
The UICCU scholarships will be awarded each year to deserving students from UICCU’s service area: the Iowa counties of Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Jasper, Johnson, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Mahaska, Marshall, Muscatine, Poweshiek, Tama and Washington. At least three of the scholarships will be awarded to help fulfill the University of Iowa’s commitment to diversity.
