UI Foundation board elects Gregs Thomopulos of Stanley Consultants to three-year term

IOWA CITY -- Gregs G. Thomopulos, chairman and CEO of Stanley Consultants Inc. of Muscatine, Iowa, was elected to a three-year term on the University of Iowa Foundation board of directors at its October meeting in Iowa City.

Thomopulos, of Iowa City, joined Stanley Consultants in 1965, became president in 1987 and CEO in 1998. A committed volunteer for the UI, Thomopulos has served on advisory boards for the UI College of Engineering and for its IIHR-Hydroscience -- Engineering unit. He is Stanley Consultants' designated representative to the Presidents Club of the University of Iowa, which recognizes the UI's most generous contributors. Beyond the UI, he has served on numerous community and professional committees including the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Southeast Iowa.

The UI Foundation board also elected UI graduates Henry B. Tippie (1949 B.S.C.) of Austin, Texas, and Carroll J. Reasoner (1973 B.A., 1976 J.D.) of Cedar Rapids lifetime honorary members of the board. Tippie, for whom the UI Tippie College of Business is named, served on the foundation board from 1999 to 2008. Reasoner was a member of the foundation board from 1991 to 2008 and served as its chair from 2000 to 2003.

• Dan C. Roberts (1976 B.B.A., 1983 Ph.D.) of Chatham, N.J.
• Gary F. Seamans (1971 B.S.E.E) of Galena, Ill.
• Mary Joy Stead of Scottsdale, Ariz.
• Catherine Zaharis (1982 B.B.A.) of Iowa City
