What Gifts Have Done in the Past

The Parents Association has allocated Parents Fund for Student Support resources to the following UI organizations:

  • The Office of Student Life, for Welcome Week 2006
  • Orientation Services, for mailing new student handbooks to families unable to attend the University's orientation program
  • Residence Services, for Night Games, a series of alcohol-free weekend events
  • UI Student Government, for a safety initiative that includes updating the blue-cap emergency phone system
  • The Office of Student Services, for AlcoholEdu, an online education course to prevent alcohol abuse

Previously funded projects include Sesquicentennial Scholarships, campus lighting and emergency telephones, e-mail stations at the Iowa Memorial Union, the Safewalk program, the Parent Calling Project, and the Stepping Up Project's alcohol-free tailgate.
