Although The University of Iowa is a state institution, it receives less than one quarter of its annual funding from state appropriations. To assure that the UI can continue to fulfill its mission of excellence in teaching, research, and service, we rely on private support from individuals and organizations that share our commitment to quality.

Gifts from corporations and foundations, both Iowa-based and nationwide, have played a significant role in enabling the UI to maintain its leadership position in fields ranging from biomedical research, to entrepreneurship, to K-12 education.

Corporations and foundations choose to support the UI for a variety of reasons:
