Are you ready to connect with others in the University of Iowa community interested in giving back? The UI Foundation's Students in Philanthropy Initiative (SPI) is designed to engage UI students, like you, in all aspects of philanthropy. The SPI project seeks to help students understand how contributors to the UI have enhanced students' experience at Iowa, and it encourages students themselves to become givers, whether of time or resources, while they're here on campus and after graduation. How does the UI Foundation connect with UI students? Here are just a few of the ways:
We work with people and organizations throughout Iowa and worldwide who give money to make sure you’re getting the best education possible. The tens of thousands of donors who give through the UI Foundation each year care about you and your University. During the 2006-2007, their gifts added up to more than $87 million—including more than $1 million raised by your fellow students through our Telefund program. Those gifts help students pay for school, provide state-of-the-art buildings and technology, and attract and keep great teachers and researchers at the UI.
