How Your Gifts Help The University of Iowa

Although the UI is a state institution, it receives less than one third of its funding from state appropriations and tuition. This makes support from the University's friends and alumni crucial to the UI's mission of educating students, conducting research to advance our understanding of the world, and serving the state of Iowa.

Your gifts help support:

  • Scholarships and financial aid, which allow deserving students to continue their studies.
  • Faculty development, such as endowed faculty chairs and visiting lecturer series, which maintain the UI's legacy of academic quality.
  • Research funds to help our faculty -- often with the help of students -- make important advances in health care, the sciences, and the arts and humanities.
  • Facilities construction and improvement, and other special projects that ensure that UI students and faculty have the resources needed for scholarly growth.
  • Unrestricted resources, which provide crucial, flexible resources to meet the University's areas of greatest need.

There are many ways to give. But regardless of how (or how much) you choose to contribute, you will have an impact on The University of Iowa and the students and faculty who make it special.

You can make the difference with a gift of any size to any area of the UI. Make your gift online now!
