Ways to Give to The University of Iowa ANNUAL GIVING 
Thousands of UI alumni and friends give each year to the annual development funds of the University's colleges, departments, and programs. These gifts, of all sizes, provide unrestricted funds -- a pool of resources that can be easily directed by UI colleges and other units to where they are needed most. You may contribute to these funds by:
STOCK GIFTS Gifts of marketable stocks or mutual fund shares that have appreciated (increased in value) can have an immediate impact on your favorite UI program -- and also create an immediate income tax deduction for you based on the assets' current value. MATCHING GIFTS Many contributors multiply their support for The University of Iowa each year by making use of their employer's matching gift programs. The University is grateful to these companies and foundations for their generosity. GIFT PLANNING One of the most effective means of giving to The University of Iowa is a planned gift. Gift planning is the process of carefully selecting the best methods and assets for making a gift, such as cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, life insurance, trusts, and bequests. A planned gift can enable you to assist the UI in its mission of education, research, and service while also reducing your burden of income, capital gains, or estate taxes. HONORARY AND MEMORIAL GIFTS A gift in memory or honor of a teacher, student, relative, or friend is a generous and thoughtful way to recognize a person's life and accomplishments. When an honorary or memorial gift is made, the Foundation will notify the honoree or next of kin (if requested), and the gift is administered as the contributor specifics. Honorary and memorial gifts may be made via the UI Foundation's online giving site.
